Copyright #3

1. ) Why can’t copyrighted materials be put on a school website?

2.) How much stuff on the web is copyrighted? (not much, a quarter, about half, etc?)

3.) What is Creative Commons? What does it mean?

4.) Compare the two songs in this copyright case. Do you think the following songs are targeted at different audiences?

5.) Did Harrison infringe on the Chiffon's hit? You be the judge. Listen to the two samples at the following link. How would you rule this?

6.) Rap or Rock? Can you tell the difference?

Answers
1.) Because students can't write them down as there own and neither can the school website.
2.) About a half is copyrighted. Because a lot of websites need concrete details about stuff and the only way to get it right for sure is to copyright them.
3.) Creative Commons is a spectrum of possibilities between full copyright — all rights reserved — and the public domain — no rights reserved. Our licenses help you keep your copyright while inviting certain uses of your work — a "some rights reserved".
4.) Yes I think they are targeted for different audiences. A four year old is not going to get the song very much.
5.) Harrison didn't infringe on the Chiffon's hit because he did not tell the competitors about the beat and stuff. I would rule this a mistrial or a maybe answer, only because a lot of songs use similar bats but not the same one so I guess I would say that it was wrong to use the other persons beat that wasn't yours to start of with.
6.) yes I can tell the difference there two totally different genres. One you use skill to play and the other you just use lyrics.
